From July 1st, 2010, the Law on amending and supplementing immigration management and refugees recognisation of Japan officially comes into force. According to Japanese side, the amendment and supplement to this policy is aimed to better protect legitimate interests and steady legal status of foreign trainees. Besides, it is also aimed to change the perception of some agencies, enterprises receiving foreign trainees, help them understand the goal of the program is to transfer skills, technology and knowledge researched and developed by Japan to developing countries, rather than using foreign trainees as cheap labourers.
